Daily Log

Also called: Daily Report, Superintendent Daily Report

A daily record of jobsite activity including crew counts, weather conditions, work performed, safety observations, and issues encountered. Daily logs are the primary operational record of construction progress.

Why It Matters in Construction

Daily logs are the most frequently created construction document. If the logging tool is slow or cumbersome, field teams skip it. Software must make daily logging faster than paper.

Common Examples

  • A superintendent completes a daily log on a mobile device in under three minutes.
  • Daily logs automatically aggregate into weekly progress reports for project managers.
  • Photo attachments are geotagged and timestamped for documentation purposes.
